2023 - Update 13:

Ringsend's GT73 is seen operating Route 77A on the Citywest Road on the 7th April 2023 with its Specsavers advert (click on photo for larger version).

Adverts have been extending beyond their adframes for a few months now to various degrees of success (see GT57 here which has a less than obvious advert extension). But the recent campaign for Specsavers has perfected the concept. Expanding on their campaigns of less sighted people making glaring errors to the bus advert team, it strikenly stands out. The standard advert frame is a mix of Dublin Bus yellow and the supposed Specsavers ad, while the transfers on the windows complete the supposed displaced advert. It is very clever. Thus far the ad has been limited to GTs, and specifically the standard livery ones, it might be harder to achieve the effect on the TFI livery.
