2023 - Update 10:

Harristown's EV68 is seen operating Route 142 on Custom House Quay on the 27th February 2023 (click on photo for larger version).

Custom House Quay was for many years a one-way bus street. The 151 goes via Custom House Quay towards East Road only, the 15A/B used the quay in this same direction in the past. Even when the 90 was extended towards New Wapping Street, it also served only in this direction. The one "regular" bus service exception was the few 53As that operated up until April 2012, not including the multitude of commercial services that set-down only in this location. The completion of Rosie Hackett Bridge and the contra-flow in front of Custom House brought a partial revival in more recent times, but it was peak hour only and the stopping places of these peak hour routes could be haphazard. With the introduction of the G-Spine, Custom House Quay has a proper frequent bi-directional service, but also new stop infrastructure. Stop 7397 is a new favourite stop of mine, with buses nicely framed by the harp strings of the Samuel Beckett Bridge. This feature showcases one of these peak hour services, Route 142, on Custom House Quay over the years.
