Photo of the Week - Week 46:

Ringsend's RV623, now the highest numbered RV in service with Dublin Bus, is seen on a rare Saturday outing on Route 27 on the 22nd September 2012. The old display to Clare Hall via Fairview is being displayed, used for the 27 prior to its merger with Route 77 back in September 2011.

The see-saw repetition of Photo of the Weeks from GT to RV continues this week, with a little feature on the highest numbered RVs still left in active service. RV620-RV623 have only operated in Ringsend for a short time, being transferred from Harristown in 2012, with RV620-621 going via Donnybrook. The countdown of the RVs continue with GT60 entering service in Clontarf yesterday (6th November 2012) on Route 29A. The Ringsend batch will be next, seeing the vast bulk of the RVs withdrawn. However, there are still small pockets in Summerhill (3 RVs) and Harristown (4 RVs), waiting for the gaps to be filled in within their batches with Wrights bus not delivering them in sequence. This has most likely given these RVs their brief stay of execution. Its still tick-tock, so catch them while you can.

Ringsend's RV621 is seen operating a morning duty on Route 15A to Grand Canal Dock on the 5th November 2012.

Ringsend's RV621 is seen turning from Townsend Street onto Tara Street on Route 15B on the 5th November 2012.
