Photo of the Week - Week 24:

Former Dublin Bus Alexander R-bodied Leyland Olympian, RH11, is seen on Bank Place operating the Limerick City Tour on the 30th June 2011.

Apologies for the lack of update last week, its been quite hectic the last while. We start this week by noting the sad cessation of the longest running Dublin Bus enthusiast site, dublinbus.cc. Dublinbus.cc will be sadly missed, being the most regularly updated enthusiast site on the topic of Dublin Bus. Innovative features from Wheeling in the Years to the most recent one on AV397 were excellent contributions. Thankfully, the site is still there and its achives represent the largest collection of Dublin Bus photos. Thrawling through the picture pages one can only be amazed with the number of bus photos, and the varied locations in which they are taken. The home page for the moment is a test card, however DublinBusStuff, like most who read these pages, hopes that this is just an intermission in this site's excellent history.

The top image is of RH11 which runs the Red Viking Tour around Limerick. And this city is DublinBusStuff's new home, so unfortunately the rate of growth of the photographic archives will slow. However don't worry about the closure of this site just yet. The archive alone could keep this site going for years, and I don't intend ceasing my photography of Dublin's Buses. The image below, taken only yesterday, in monsoon conditions shows a lesser spotted AV238 operating Route 32A.

Dublin Bus Alexander ALX400-bodied Volvo B7TL, AV238, is seen operating a Route 32A departure to Malahide on the Howth Road approaching Black Banks in monsoon conditions on the 16th July 2011.
