Photo of the Week - Week 18:

AV116 is seen in its new Heineken Cup Wrap parading with the Heineken Cup through the streets of Dublin. It is seen making a strange right turn from College Green onto Grafton Street on the 18th May 2013.

Phibsboro's Open-Top Tour Bus AV116 received a wrap for the Heineken Cup Final, which was held in Dublin on the 18th May 2013. In keeping with recent wraps, only 3 sides of the bus are wrapped, the front retaining its Dublin Bus livery. In this case the tour livery blends reasonably well into what is a very attractive advertisement livery. AV116 started its journey at Dublin City Hall, where the Heineken Cup was shown off, heading down Dame Street and heading against traffic on College Green, before heading down Grafton Street and Nassau Street, finishing at the Heineken Cup Street Party on Merrion Square South. As can be seen, a luminescent watch guarding the cup surrounded the bus at all times during the parade.

AV116 is seen on Cork Hill at the side of Dublin City Hall prior to setting off on the 18th May 2013.

AV116 was the first of 15 dual-door buses delivered to Dublin Bus in late 2000 for use on the Airlink services operated from Summerhill garage. It was displaced from its Airlink duties in early 2009, transferring to Phibsboro (Broadstone) depot. It remained there unused for a year before it was converted to Tours Open-Top format, losing its centre-doors, being placed into tours service for the peak 2010 season. AV116 has been involved in a number of parades over the years, such as those for Pride 2011 and the Katie Taylor homecoming parade in Bray in 2012.

The Heineken Cup is brought aboard AV116 for its parade through Dublin's streets.
