Photo of the Week - Week 17:

Summerhill's GT52 is seen at the Maryfield Drive terminus of Route 14 on the 4th May 2013.

Though Summerhill's GTs are primarily allocated to Route 33, their weekends appear shared between the 33 and 14. This is due to a lower weekend PVR on the 33. Last Saturday there were two GTs, Sunday at least one. One notable Saturday saw Summerhill's full allocation being GT, with GTs 52, 56, 57 and 59 all in service at one time. Summerhill's allocation to the 14 has been mainly older AVs, and thus for some time EVs and VGs had been quite regular at the weekend while the older buses remained rested, before the GTs arrived and were given this new weekend home.

Summerhill's GT56 is seen at the Dundrum Main Street stop of Route 14 on a Sunday morning duty on the 5th May 2013.

Donnybrook do not generally let their newer buses stray onto the 14, with AVs being the norm. Sunday can lead to an AX or two, but generally no EVs or GTs. There has been one or two VTs spotted on the route recently, but these are always universals or late evening overtime, as opposed to actual Route 14 allocation. So at the weekends it really is easy to spot which 14s are which, the new ones being a Summerhill allocation, while the older AVs are generally Donnybrook's. That said allocations can change in an instant. Having put together a few photos of "Rare" Clontarf EVs on the 27 for last week's image of the week, yesterday's (Sunday 5th May) allocation saw four EVs on the route. Well that's the first time that has happened, so maybe the rarity will soon be the norm.

Summerhill's GT59 is seen on Earlsfort Terrace on the 30th March 2013, an evening when four GTs made up Summerhill's allocation to Route 14.
