2023 - Update 15:

Summerhill's GT58 is seen operating Route 16 on the Swords Road on the 6th May 2023 on the last day of Summerhill operation of Route 16. GT58 has been retained in Summerhill, primarily for duties on Route 41, and will no longer be seen on Route 16 (click on photo for larger version).

With Summerhill depot electrical upgrade works ongoing for both the EA and EW class arrivals, space is at a premium there. For this reason, Route 16 has moved out of Summerhill and from the 7th May 2023 is now operated by Broadstone depot. The buses utilised on Route 16 are luggage-racked buses that have moved from Summerhill, with SG614-SG621, GT51-GT55, EV40-EV47 and AX632-AX637 transferring over. Broadstone are typically quite rigid with their allocations so one wonders if any of these will stray. Only time will tell...

Summerhill's GT57 is seen operating Route 16 on the Swords Road on the 6th May 2023. Like GT58 this will not be seen on Route 16 going forward (click on photo for larger version).

Though not an usual sight, SG615, now Broadstone-based, is seen operating Route 16 on Parnell Square East on the 7th May 2023, the first day of Route 16 operation from Broadstone (click on photo for larger version).
