Photo of the Week - Week 38:

Ringsend's AX461 is seen on Strand Road Sandymount operating Route 1 on the 15th September 2018 in its tri-sided advert for BooHoo.com (click on photo for larger version).

In mid-August, Ringsend's AX461 hit the streets in a fairly attractive wrap for BooHoo.com. It was soon followed by Summerhill's AX462 and Donnybrook's AX464. Boo Hoo is an online clothing retailer aimed at 16-30 year olds. Sound familiar, it should, as the Pretty Little Things livery appeared on 3 buses this year which also is an online retailer focussed on the same age group. But the relationship doesn't end there, with both companies owned by the same Kamani family. One can only assume the same advertising company is behind both bus campaigns, and that the Pretty Little Things campaign had the desired effect. There is little doubt that wrapped buses stand out from the ordinary, so hopefully we'll see many more campaigns in the near future.

A rear shot of AX461 at the Park Avenue terminus of ROute 1 on the 15th September 2018. AX461 has the unfortunate attribute that when turned off, the display instantly goes off, hence the lack of route number (click on photo for larger version).

Donnybrook's AX464 is seen operating Route 45A on Killarney Road on the 15th September 2018 in its Boo Hoo advertisement (click on photo for larger version).
