Photo of the Week - Week 3:

Another one from the archives, the bleak mid-winter putting new photos in short supply. In fact the current photo count for 2018 is zero. Hopefully this will change soon. This week's feature looks at the 145's few Belfield departures in the evening. These services were added from Monday 9th September 2013, the same day that the 142 was extended to Belfield. This was part of a wider focus from the NTA on colleges, something which has brought bus services into DCU. Initially only one bus operated two departues, 1645 and 1730. A second bus was added later operating at 1600 and 1740. Buses operate in service to Kilmacanogue and then return special to Belfield to make the two departures. Both buses are Euro operated, with the drivers operating Route 145 services from St. Brendan's College to Hueston and back to Belfield Flyover in the morning peak. When the 145 was shortened to Ballywaltrim on the 18th January 2015, these services remained operating to Kilmacanogue, the only 145 services to do so these days. Like many college services, they are limited to term time operation only, though that has brought confusion especially during the early days, with Dublin Bus assuming a school term as opposed to UCD term operation.

Donnybrook's former AV265 is seen at the Hueston Station terminus on Route 145 on the 19th May 2014. The display is clearly incorrect noting via City Centre (click on photo for larger version).
